Wilson
Pike
September 7, 1952 – December 14, 2024
Wilson Eugene "Genie Boy" Pike, was born on September 7, 1952, to Rev. Wilson Melvin & Thelmarie Evangeline Pike, and was the third child and oldest son of seven children born to their union.
Wilson accepted the Lord at an early age, approximately 12 years old, and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church by Reverend L.V. Price.
He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1970 and subsequently served, and was honorably discharged from, the United States Airforce in 1973. Wilson then graduated from Vocational Technical School and Cowley County Community College before working for several major employers including Boeing, Herzog and Vernado.
Wilson was a devoted husband to LaSonya Pike, and they celebrated their 22nd anniversary on November 30, 2024. Their daughters include Jacci Green (John), Jennifer Rowland, and Eugenia Harris (Donald Ray). He cherished his grandchildren: DeAngelo Rowland, Haley Naytah (Raiyan), De'Andre Harris, and Trinity "Grandpa's Angel" Harris; and his great- grandchildren: Elijah and Ari Naytah.
Wilson joined Community Baptist Church in 1988 and became an ordained Deacon in February of 2007. He accepted his call to the ministry in March of 2011; was ordained to be a Preacher in December of 2012, and became a Reverend in October of 2015. Since 2017 Wilson served faithfully at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Robert Robinson. Wilson was known for his in-depth teachings, his extensive vocabulary, and his sense of humor.
Wilson was a prior pool-shark and a life-long Dallas Cowboy fan who enjoyed reading and studying God's Word.
God called him to eternal rest on Saturday, December 14, 2024, after a brief illness. His life is truly a testimony of God's goodness and grace.
Wilson was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Wilson and Thelmarie Pike, and his sisters Brenda Williams and Rudie Ann Newton.
