William Jackson “Bill” Foster, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, transitioned peacefully from labor to his eternal reward on July 17, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him most. Bill was born on April 30, 1952, in Platte City, Missouri, to Donald Foster and Velma Andrews, both of whom preceded him in death.

From an early age, Bill understood the value of hard work, perseverance, and personal responsibility. He believed that a man’s character was measured not by what he possessed, but by his willingness to provide for those he loved, to keep his word, and to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. Those principles became the foundation upon which he built his life.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1972 to 1977, attaining the rank of Specialist Second Class. The discipline, integrity, and quiet strength he developed during his military service remained evident throughout every chapter of his life.

Following his military service, Bill devoted more than forty years to the transportation industry. As a commercial driver, he safely operated nearly every type of commercial vehicle imaginable and earned a reputation as a dependable professional whose work ethic was second to none. During his career, he also served as a General Superintendent, overseeing transportation operations, managing supervisors, drivers, laborers, and office staff, coordinating equipment and dispatch, participating in transportation planning, and serving as a Safety Coordinator. Whether behind the wheel or leading others, Bill approached every responsibility with dedication, humility, and pride.

“A Hillbilly and a Soul Sister”

In 1991, Bill met the love of his life, Treatha Brown, at Tan-Tar-A Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks. What began as a chance encounter became a beautiful love story that spanned more than three decades. Their personalities could not have been more different, yet together they were inseparable. Whether attending church, family gatherings, community events, or simply enjoying each other’s company, one was rarely seen without the other. Bill often joked that he was just a simple country boy, while Treatha lovingly embraced the differences that made their relationship so special. Their marriage stood as a testament to unwavering love, mutual respect, and God’s faithfulness.

Along with Treatha came the blessing of becoming a father to a larger family. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, laughter, and unwavering support for their children and grandchildren.

Bill found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his family, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, cheering for the University of Kansas Jayhawks basketball team, and sharing stories from a lifetime filled with hard work and unforgettable experiences. Above all else, he cherished time with the people he loved.

A devoted Christian, Bill faithfully attended Northside Church of Christ, where his faith continued to guide his life. His quiet example, generous spirit, and willingness to serve others reflected the values he carried throughout his life.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Foster and Velma Andrews; his brother, David Foster (Debi); and his beloved wife, Treatha Brown-Foster, whose passing in 2023 left a void that he carried with grace until they were reunited once again.

He is survived by his sons, John R. Lewis, Daniel J. Foster (Kendra), Caleb J. Foster, and Isaac J. Foster; his grandchildren, Brittney Atkinson (Charlie), Tempest Foster, Abiageal Foster, Taryn Foster, Carly Foster, Fiona Foster, and Caroline Foster; his brother, Owen Golden (Kimberly); his sisters, Becky Tate and Elizabeth Claypole (Dale); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, cherished friends, and all whose lives were made better by knowing him.

Bill Foster will be remembered as a man of unwavering faith, quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and an unmatched work ethic. Though he lived a humble life, he left behind something far more valuable than worldly possessions: an enduring example of perseverance, kindness, sacrifice, and unconditional love. His legacy will continue to live on through the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched along the way.
