Wilkie W.
Berry
June 24, 1940 – April 19, 2026
Rev. Wilkie W. Berry, Sr.
Obituary for Mortuary
Rev. Wilkie Wendell Berry, Sr. was born on June 24, 1940, to Joe Romie Berry and
Katie Mae (Alford) Berry in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was the eleventh child of
sixteen siblings. Preceding him in death were siblings Willie Berry, Helen Berry,
Easter Mae Smith, Bertha Mae Beavers, Sam Berry, Leford Berry, Dorothy Mae
Beavers, Melvina Samilton, Mary Berry, Pearline Berry, Leman Berry, Hudson
Berry, and Floyd Berry.
Wilkie accepted Christ into his life at a young age at New Hope Baptist Church in
Wetumka Oklahoma. He would later in life go on to join Paradise Baptist Church
where he would earnestly serve for over three decades as a dedicated member
and Reverend. The last four years of his life he would become a faithful member
of Dellrose United Methodist Church.
Wilkie aka “Bilke” was known by many as a true jack of all trades. He had a gift of
fixing, building, and improving just about anything he set his hands on. Whether
it was repairing a broken step, lending tools, or offering advice, he never
hesitated to show up when someone needed help. To neighbors, friends, and
family alike, he was more than a handyman-he was dependable, generous, and
always ready to make life a little easier for those around him. He took pride in
caring for homes, not just his own but those of others. From cutting grass under
the summer sun to tackling small projects big and small, he worked with quiet
dedication and a servant’s heart.
Wilkie departed this earthly journey on April 19, 2026. He leaves to cherish his
memory, four children, Denise Paschal of Wichita, KS, Dennis (Claudia) Berry of
Leesville, LA, Teketa (Kevass) Harding of Wichita, KS and Wilkie W. Berry, Jr. of
Hawaii. Sisters, Mable Loggins of Weleetka, OK and Flody Patterson of Broken
Arrow, OK. Ten grandchildren, Teketa Paschal, Sheena (Andre) Jackson, Carnez
Williams, MaKayla Harding, Daisha Paschal, Rayna Berry, MaKenna Green,
Kaptyn Berry, Katelyn Berry, and Kadynce Berry. Five great-grandchildren.
Amari Jackson, Jakari Jackson, Aubrey Norris, Zora Davis and Shemar Jackson
and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
