Vandetta Ross was born March 7, 1951, the youngest of
12 children born to Mr. Ollie (Dude) Ross, Sr. and Mrs.
Vicy Ross. She attended Little Elementary and graduated
from Wichita North High School. She traveled to New
York and Chicago and came to reside in Compton,
California for over 27 years. She returned to Wichita to be
closer to family.

Vandetta cared for her mother and sister Gwen until they
departed this Earth. She managed Payless Shoe Store
until its closing. She was a hard worker giving Payless
approximately 30 years of service. She became a Bus Aide
for First Student until the end of the school year 2024. She
loved spending time with her family. She was an avid TV
watcher of reality shows and In the Heat of the Night.
With that being said, "Don't call, come by, try holding a
conversation." She wasn't having it!

Vandetta was preceded in death by her mother Virtuous
Vicy Ross; her father Ollie (Dude) Ross, Sr.; her brothers –
Ollie Jr., Edward, Jesse Sr., and Jimmy Ross; her sisters –
Beverly Drake, Louise Jacobs, Gwen Dubose, and baby
Jacqueline.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her brothers – S.D.
(Dorothy) Ross, Sr., Glenn (Darlene) Ross, Sr.; her son
Bear; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
