It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terrye Kates - Asher, who left this world on February 27, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 62. Terrye was born on March 25, 1961, in El Paso, Texas, to her loving parents Richard Lee Kates and Mary Ruth. Terrye will be deeply missed by her husband Zoe P. Asher, her sons Richard Lee Kates and Nick Kates-Asher, as well as her 7 cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Sheryl Kates-Debnam, and her brothers Ronald E. Having worked as a USD 259 Para-professional, Terrye dedicated herself to serving her community and making a positive impact on the lives of others. Her kindness and compassion knew no bounds, and her contributions will always be remembered.
Terrye possessed a warm and caring personality that endeared her to everyone she met. Her bright smile and infectious laughter could light up any room, and her thoughtfulness knew no bounds. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, always putting the needs of others before her own.
The service and memorial arrangements for Terrye will be held in her honor, as we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of so many. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
To Terrye, with your gentle soul and loving spirit, you will be truly missed. Your presence in our lives brought light and joy, and we are grateful for the moments we shared with you. May you rest in peace, knowing that your legacy of love will carry on in the lives of those you left behind.
In this time of mourning, we find solace in the memories we shared with Terrye, from her childhood in Texas to the special bonds she forged with her family. While we grieve her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she gave so freely to all who knew her. Terrye may be gone, but her spirit will always remain with us, a beacon of love and warmth in our hearts.
