Sharon Kay Williams of Wichita, Kansas, passed peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of
76. Born on August 5, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas, Sharon carried a steady compassion from an
early age, the kind that makes people feel safer simply because she is in the room.
After graduating from Bryan Institute in 1982, she devoted 44 years to nursing in the Wichita
community. She served as a Registered Nurse at Larksfield Place, where she was known for
her calm presence, her clinical excellence, and the quiet way she made patients feel seen and
loved. She was the nurse coworkers trusted, the one you wanted beside you when the day got
hard and the stakes got high.

Sharon also poured that same care into others through mentorship, taking time to guide new
nurses, model professionalism, and remind people that competence and kindness are not
competing values. Her mantra was that the nurses and staff in the nursing home may be the
only family the residents have so let's be family to them.

Outside of work, her greatest pride was her family. She is survived by 3 children, Michelle Barry,
Shannon McClain and Brandon McClain including her daughter-in-love Cristie Bostic McClain;
her 7 grandchildren Cleo, Janay, Aaron, Christopher, Sydney, Brandon II and Braelyn Kay; and
2 great-grandchild Jaydan & Natalia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Traylor and Lillie
Cleo Traylor, her brother Jay Traylor and eldest son Ray McClain.

Her legacy lives in the family she loved fiercely the coworkers and residents that were her 2nd
family and in the countless lives she touched through a lifetime of service.
