Precious Memories of Sampson Dempsey

Sampson Dempsey was born to the marriage of Fancy Dempsey and Annie Mae Hopson-Dempsey on August 26,1943, in Emmet, Arkansas.  He was the 6th of 10 children born and raised into their loving and close-knit family. Sampson's family affectionately nicknamed him "Brother Boy"- which remained as his nickname throughout the years to come.

As a family man, Sampson deeply loved and supported his family.  He became a father as a young adult-which he considered as one of his highest honors. During the mid-60's and in the 70's, he was blessed with the birth of his children whom he loved dearly: Katrina, Pamela, Angela, Nicole and Tracy.   His daughter Pam describes him as "An awesome Dad, and no one else can ever take his place."

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mr. Fancy Dempsey and Mrs. Annie Mae
Dempsey, 5 siblings; James Will Dempsey who passed away as an infant, Willie Robert
Dempsey, Sr., Mildred Louise Williams, Sarah Nell Dennis, and Robert James Dempsey, Sr.; 1
grandson, Jaylen McWilliams. Sampson is survived by his 4 daughters; Katrina Johnson,
Pamela Dempsey, Angela Henderson, Nicole McWilliams and 1 Son; Tracy Dempsey and 11
grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. 2 brothers; Fancy "F.C." Dempsey (Wife, Virley)
and Raymond Dempsey Sr (Wife, Barbara) and 2 sisters; Martha Lewis and Suzanne
Sweeney, as well as those to whom he was a surrogate father; including Tamara Green and
Galen Faggitt, and a great host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He lived a life of fairness,
compassion and walking humbly with God. He will be greatly missed.
