Rrachelle Renee' Douglas Breckenridge

July 20, 1967 – October 2025

Rrachelle Renee' Douglas Breckenridge, lovingly known as "Shelly," passed away in October 2025. Born in Wichita, Kansas, she was the cherished daughter of Dorothy Douglas and Grady Douglas, Jr., and a woman of deep faith, compassion, and intellect.

A proud graduate of the University of Iowa and the University of Texas School of Law, Rrachelle led a distinguished legal career as a prosecutor and later as a municipal attorney for the City of Olathe. She was deeply committed to public service and made lasting contributions in every role she held.

In 2009, she married her lifelong friend and soulmate, Deacon Loren E. Breckenridge, and embraced her role as a devoted wife, mother, and later, grandmother. She was a faithful member and Deaconess at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and The Links, Incorporated.

She is survived by her loving children Loren A. Breckenridge and Lorien L. Breckenridge (Kamaron), cherished granddaughters Layne and Laya Davis, siblings Grady Douglas III (Piper), Josef Douglas (Cassie), and Shaquon Owens (Alex), niece, Kameelah Alexander and a host of other beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Loren, parents Dorothy and Grady, brother Rhea A. Hanna, and other dear family members.

Rrachelle's life was marked by grace, brilliance, and a deep love for family and community. She will be deeply missed
