Rev. Roy Hughes, passed away at the age of 72 on October 26, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on May 4, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to his late parents Cleo Hughes and Iola Cobb.

Throughout his life, Rev. Roy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Brenda, and a cherished brother to Jewelene Dean, Eddie Hughes, William (Mickey) Hughes, Vincent Turner, as well as a host of other family members and friends. He was known for his warm heart and compassionate nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

A minister at New Jerusalem Baptist Church Pastor T. L. Wade, Rev. Roy played a vital role in the spiritual growth and guidance of his congregation. His dedication to his faith and community made a lasting impact on those around him, inspiring others to live a life of kindness and love.

Rev. Roy's service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, followed by his burial at Maple Grove Cemetery. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, as he leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service.
