Rose Turner
- Earp
April 28, 1951 – April 10, 2026
Journey Of Life
Rose Marie Turner Earp, age 74, was born on April 28, 1951, in Independence, Kansas, daughter of the late Noah and Rose Margaret Turner. She transitioned out of this life on April 10, 2026.
Rose grew up in Independence, Kansas and attended the Independence Public Schools graduating with the class of 1969. She worked at Mercy Hospital and provided for her two daughters as a single Mother. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a member of Pleas Temple Church Of God In Christ in the Fort Scott District under the late Superintendent Virgil Watson. She dedicated her life to the Lord early in her life. She was passionate about playing the piano and singing the praises of God. She was a member of a special chorus group. She attended Sunday School and Young People Willing Workers (YPWW), worked in the Church kitchen and helped deliver dinners. If you sang the song, “Witness for my Lord,” it was Rose. If you sang the song, “Oh How I Love Jesus,” she showed it in her daily living. She was a living, walking, talking, breathing witness for the Lord. The song, “Let the Life I Live, Speak for Me,” this was her testimony and her living was not in vain.
Through the years, she lived in Phoenix, Arizona and Wichita, Kansas. Rose had the opportunity to travel and visit Honolulu and Kona in Hawaii, Cozumel, Mexico, Oceanside and San Francisco in California, Texas, and South Carolina during her lifetime. She loved her family. She treasured her relationship with her granddaughter, Jiatae, great grandson, Donovan, and great granddaughter, Taralyn.
In 2016, she joined Saint Mark Cathedral Church of God in Christ under the late Bishop Mark L. Gilkey, currently Pastor Cameron Martin where she served on the Mother’s Board. She also served in a role of prayer for the Kansas Southwest Jurisdiction Department of Women. She blessed and touched many lives with her kindness, her smile and giving spirit. She loved helping people and assisting the elderly. Most importantly, she loved the Lord. She often prayed fervently; even on her sick bed she was yet giving God praise and thanking Him for her life.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Rose is survived by two children - Karen Goodman of Wichita, Kansas, and Rolanda Turner (Antonio) of North Carolina; granddaughter, Jiatae Daley (Conner), great grandson, Donovan, and great granddaughter, Taralyn; three sisters – Margaret Louise Hutchinson (Jesse), Mary Parker, Ruth Turner, one brother – Larry Turner (Peggy); and a host of nieces and nephews.
