Rodell Hunt Jr Obituary

Rodell Hunt Jr. passed away in his sleep on August 20, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was born on April 27, 1947 to Lurlean & Rodell Hunt Sr. in Boley, Oklahoma.

Rodell believed in education. He took great pride in the academic achievements of his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was a shining example that learning is a lifelong process. In 2007, he fulfilled a promise to himself and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University.

To know him was to love him as he entered every room with wit, charm, and a little bit of sarcasm. He had a heart for giving and dedicated his life to providing for his family and friends. Everyone knew they could count on Rodell to show up and support in any way he was able. He was truly a pillar of the Hunt family and to those who were fortunate to cross his path.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Two very dear and loving aunts: Vivian and Lula Mae. Children: Cerise, Rachel, and Anthony. Grandchildren: Kahlea, Rhyan, and August. Brothers: Larry (Frances), Howard, and Floyde (Sherree). Sisters: JoAnn (Donnell), Janice (George), Wanda, and Sheryl, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Rodell is preceded in death by his parents, Rodell Hunt Sr. and Lurlean Hunt; his brother, Harold Hunt; and his sisters, Marvyne Doss and Shirley Hunt-Starks.
