Rance H. Reed, Jr.

Rance Henry Reed, Jr. – age 83, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on August 21, 1943 in New York to Rance Reed, Sr. and Annie Bell Reed. He was the oldest of 13 children. The family later moved to Mississippi and then later to Wichita, Kansas. Rance was a very hard worker. He worked for the City of Wichita, Boeing, and Spirit, from which he retired after many years. He was a member of the Upper Room Church until he became homebound. He loved to go fishing, singing, and telling stores about his childhood from “down in the South”, and helping with projects around the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rance H. Reed, Sr. and Annie B. Reed, and his sister, Pearl Thomas. Rance leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Rance H. Reed, III (Mary), Nehemiah Reed, Candrea Reed Cabaniss (Peter), and Annica Reed; his sisters, Annie Garrett (Harvey), Curley Darnell, Gloria Reed, Juanita Reed, and Jennifer Grayson (Leroy); his brothers, James Reed, Marcellus Reed (Sirles), Robert Reed, Bishop David S. Reed, Sr. (Mother Ivy Reed), Roger Reed, and Timothy Reed; his grandchildren, Brooklin Candence Reed (19 years old), Naturi Simone Reed (8 years old), and Amazi Reed (3 months old); and a host of family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
