Obituary

Murl Levi Anderson, Sr., a proud and cherished patriarch, passed away peacefully in Wichita, Kansas, on November 9, 2025. He was 92 years old. Born on February 22, 1933, in Crescent, Oklahoma, Murl was the son of Arthur and Virginia (Bennett) Anderson.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, June-Faye (Carter) Anderson, his sons Michael and Roy Anderson, his daughter Julia Ann Anderson, and his granddaughter Nikita Anderson. Murl was the last surviving child of his parents, outliving his six brothers, Calvin, Zelma, Forrest, Joe Louis, Chester, Andy, and two sisters, Marcelene and Louise.

He is survived by his devoted children Carmen Sr., Murl Jr., Robert Sr., Jimmy Sr., and Kathy Anderson. Murl was also the proud patriarch to 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. His legacy extends further to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will deeply miss his guidance and warmth.

Murl showed a commitment to his country by enlisting in the United States Army at the age of 20 on April 7, 1953. After his honorable discharge in 1955, he relocated to Wichita. His dedication to family life began when he married June Faye Carter on January 27, 1957. They were blessed to share eight children and enjoyed 63 wonderful years together before Faye\'s passing on November 16, 2020.

Following his military service, Murl built a successful career in the Aircraft industry, leading to his retirement from Beech in 1995. Always an active and dedicated member of his community, he faithfully served at the Greater New Testament Baptist Church under the pastorate of Pastor, Dr. Keith E. Cullors.

Murl's life will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at New Testament. His interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. His family invites all who knew and loved him to attend these services to honor his remarkable life.

He leaves an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will be preserved in the hearts of all his family, friends, and community members. He will be deeply missed.
