Marzetta Hicks, affectionately known as Marge/ Mahtzi, by her family and friends passed away on May 28, 2024, in Wichita Kansas at the age of 92 embraced by her loving family. She was born Sept 6, 1931, in Chelsea Oklahoma, to Calvin Berry and Sallie  Benson. A formidable pair that raised 8 beautiful children on a small patch of red dusty land, called the Indian Hills.  Mahtzi and her spunky brothers and sisters spent their younger years surrounded by pigs, cattle and a horse named Johnson.

Marzetta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years Vernel Hicks, her parents, as well as all of her 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her 3 sons, Robert, Roger (Barbara), and Arthur (Patricia) DeHart along with only daughter, Patricia DeHart Lee as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Known for her cooking, sewing and housekeeping among the family, Marzetta impacted the larger community as she served as a Librarian at the Wichita Public Library for several years. While there, her love of books translated into many things including a favorite among the children, story time.

Always thoughtful, loving, full of grace and sensibility, "Mahtzi" will forever be loved and missed by so many
