Marvetta J. Evans, peacefully passed away on June 23, 2024, in her hometown of Wichita, Kansas at the age of 86. She was born on July 21, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas, a place that held a special spot in her heart throughout her entire life.
Marvetta was preceded in death by her parents but is survived by a large and loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, being survived by her children Laveda Stone, Tyrone, Zerll, and Torran Shelby, Lawrence, and Jesscia Evans. Marvetta was a devoted sister to Marvin (Pat) Stone, Dwight Stone, Norbet Stone, Yvonne Thompson, and Linda Stone. Her family also includes eight grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Marvetta found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments spent with her family. She was known for her kind heart, and unwavering love for her loved ones. Marvetta's love and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marvetta's devotion to her family extended beyond words and her impact on her community will always be remembered. She will be fondly remembered for her contributions to those around her and the light that she brought into the lives of others. Her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A service to honor and celebrate Marvetta's life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Eastside Cathedral of Praise Church of God In Christ at 5955 E. 29th St. N., Wichita, KS 67220. The service will be a reflection of the love and warmth that Marvetta shared with the world.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Marvetta for the beautiful soul that she was and the love that she brought into the lives of those around her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew her.
Rest in peace, dear Marvetta. Your presence will be deeply missed but your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
