Lutisha
Hill
September 22, 1959 – November 14, 2025
Lutisha (Simpkins) Hill was born on September 22,1959 in Midville, Georgia to Peter and Martha (Flournoy) Simpkins. She was the sixth of ten children. Lutisha had a typical childhood and throughout her school-aged years, she excelled academically and was constantly recognized as an honor student.
She joined the U.S. Army in May of 1978 and was trained as a 71L10 (Administrative Specialist). After completing training, she was assigned to Fort Devens, Massachusetts as an administrative clerk, working in the SSO (Special Security Office). She was honorably discharged in May of 1981, having served three years of dedicated service to the U.S. Army.
While stationed at Fort Devens, she met and married Edward Hill. To this union four children were born. Edward E. Hill II (Elizabeth), Regina Hill-Goddard (Paul), Marcus Hill (Margarita), and Cedric Hart (Shoshannah).
Lutisha fell in love with God at an early age and served Him with purpose all the days of her life. She joyfully used her gifts in many areas of ministry, including serving in the choir, on the hospitality committee, as a Sunday school teacher, usher, and in the finance department. She was simply one that had a heart to help get things done for the Kingdom. She was an anointed teacher and speaker of the Word of God and always took an uncompromising stand to the truth of God's word.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, and spending time on her multiple sewing and embroidery machines. She was undeniably creative and loved attending craft shows where she shared her handmade creations with others.
In February 2007 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education, which supported her career as a contracting specialist for the Defense Contracting Management Agency (DCMA). She finishes her career with three years of active-duty military time and over thirty-seven years as a civil servant.
She was preceded in transition by her parents, Peter and Martha Simpkins, brothers Tommy and Peter Simpkins, sisters Nettie Cockrell, and Jacqueline Harris. Her living siblings are Sammie Flournoy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Christine Stewart of Washington D.C., Irie Lee Simpkins of Macon, GA, Quincy Simpkins of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Tyrone Simpkins of Mobile, AL.
She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and is survived by her husband, four children and a host of other relatives.
