Obituary

Lillie Mae Green was born to Gladys Marie Green and Oscar Thomas Green June 25, 1934. Her brother Raymond Smith precedes her in death, and she is survived by her brother Robert "Bobby" Flurry of Flint, Michigan

Lillie Mae married Johnnie Burns and to that marriage birthed 4 children: Johnnie L. Burns, Brenda M. Marks, Ronald D. Burns, and Beverly Robinson. Later, she and the children, moved to Wichita, Ks where she worked as a CNA.

Lillie met and fell in love with highly decorated US Army Veteran, Theopolis Friday. The two married in July 4, 1972. They both attended and served faithfully as Ordained Deacon and Deaconess in Tabernacle Church Without Walls, New Salem Missionary Baptist Church and finally Beacon of Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

They lived on the campus of the Rock Creek Ranch, where her husband worked 20 years as a ranch hand and Game Warden. Lillie, always an excellent cook, worked from their home providing delicious meals and luxuriously baked creations. She was an accomplished seamstress, creating her own patterns and sewing for professional performing groups. A licensed cosmetologist, her hands were never idle. Their fur babies: Gino, JoJo, and Pierre were a constant source of joy and entertainment; as were her three granddaughters; Fatisha, Yolanda, and Tamarin who were blessed to live with them for a few years.

Her faith was strong and she loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart. She read her Bible and meditated on His Word, daily. In her last days she enjoyed listening to her son read the scriptures to her and when you sang gospel songs, she 'danced' in her bed! Two of her favorite things to do was to watch old Westerns with her friend, "Sheriff" and Wheel of Fortune.

Her beloved husband, Theopolis Friday; her parents, Gladys and Oscar Green; brother Raymond Smith; son-in-law Erick Robinson, grandson Jermaine Levy, and granddaughter Tamarin Davenport precede her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her brother, Robert Flurry; children; Johnnie L. Burns, Brenda M. Marks (Ernest), Ronald D. Burns (Pamaline), and Beverly S. Robinson (Erick-deceased) all of Wichita, KS.

In Wichita and from around the country; 18 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 20 great, great grandchildren;

a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
