Johnnie P. Scales Jr., aged 60, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. Born on December 12, 1964, in Wichita, Johnnie was a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

Johnnie was the proud son of his mother, Mattie M. Collins, and his late father, Johnnie P. Scales Sr.

Johnnie's legacy continues through his cherished children: Johnnie P. Scales III, Dreamis D. Scales, and Sharmetra D. Scales, who were his pride and joy. His love for his family extended to his 14 grandchildren, to whom he was a loving and doting grandfather. His siblings, Lamont, Lisa, and Ulysus Scales, will remember him as a caring and protective brother, always there to lend a helping hand.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie P. Scales Sr. He is survived by his mother, Mattie M. Collins, his children, his grandchildren, his siblings, and a host of family and friends who will miss his presence immensely.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Jackson Mortuary Chapel. All who knew and loved Johnnie are invited to attend and share their memories of a life well lived.

Johnnie's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and family. While he will be sorely missed, his spirit and memory will remain a beacon of light in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Johnnie.
