1982, where he was a proud member of the legendary Purple Knights Marching 100. John then went on

Storm, and completed assignments in Plattsburgh Air Force Base (AFB), New York; Kadena AFB,

his country honorably for 22 years before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. During this time, he

and most recently Harris Ambulatory Group, where he served as the Director of Interoperability.
John was a driven professional with an unmatched willingness to support and mentor those around him.
He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who constantly celebrated his 3 F's – Family, Faith, and

difficult it was! – supporting the New Orleans Saints.
John is survived by his wife, Tara, and their three children: Jared (Heather), Justin, and Jade; grand-
daughter Brooklynne; brother, Reuben (Mattie) and sister Phyllis, and mother-in-law Brenda Meadoux
Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother
