Obituary

Jacqueline Elaine Canidy, 64, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at St. Francis emergency surrounded by her children. She was born on November 1st, 1961, the daughter of Sir Oliver D. Canidy and Corean (Tucker) Canidy.


A woman of profound intelligence and unwavering faith, Jacqueline lived a life rooted in integrity and led by example. After graduating as the 1979 valedictorian of East High School, she dedicated herself to the care of others, earning certifications in Nursing Assistant and Child Development from Butler County Community College. Jacqueline truly embodied life's most meaningful commandments through her authenticity and love, filling the world and community around her with singing, decorating, cooking, and boistrous laughter. She was a devoted mother to four amazingly gifted children - Alympia, Joseph, Julius, and Tiara, and a grandmother to seventeen grandchildren who were the center of her world.


She was preceded in death by her parents - Sir Oliver D. Canidy and Corean T. Canidy; brother, Oliver Canidy, and sister Barbara Vincent Canidy.


She is survived by: children - Alympia Moore, Joseph (Marchelle) Moore, Julius (Melissa) Moore, Tiara Canidy, Carita Canidy (niece/daughter), Tekia Burnette (God-daughter), Terrance Burnette (God-son), Danielle Johnson (Stepdaughter), and Daniel (Talicia) Johnson (Stepson). Grandchildren - Ciera Fralin-Moore, Patrice Campbell Moore, Julien Moore, Josiah Moore, Jewell Moore, Joseph Moore II, Destiny Moore, Ja'Kyra Moore, Ja'Kory Moore, David Moore, Noah Moore, Racquel Moore, Lyric Moore, Mikaylah Smith Moore, Oliver Canidy, Mysticus Jacqueline Canidy II, & Christian Canidy. Siblings: Ted (Janet) Canidy, Eugene (Theresa) Canidy, Keith (aka Tony) Canidy, Rachelle Canidy, Drenda Canidy, Teffany Roberts, Anita Hicks, Ronda Kingwood, and Teressa Wynn Gordon.


Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service Celebration on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 at Tabernacle Church Without Walls on 1817 N. Volutsia, at 11:00 a. m.
