Idella Alford-Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 68 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on March 8, 1955, in the same city where she later became a cherished member of the community. Idella was a devoted mother to her daughters Shondella Umeh & Vivian Johnson, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were the light of her world. Sister Beverly Allen, Brother Isreal Alford.
She was preceded in death by Parents Vernon Alford & Ida Shaffer, who she now joins in eternal peace.
With a passion for education and learning, Idella pursued a successful career that allowed her to provide for her family and create a warm and loving home. Her dedication to her loved ones was unwavering, and her strength and resilience were admirable.
Idella's kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and her contributions to her community did not go unnoticed. She was known for her selflessness and willingness to help those in need, making a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In her free time, Idella enjoyed pursuing various hobbies and interests, always eager to learn and explore new things. Her love for life was infectious, and she brought a sense of joy and positivity wherever she went. Her personal traits of compassion, wisdom, and grace made her truly special and irreplaceable.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM at New Hope MBC, where family and friends will come together to honor and remember Idella for the remarkable person she was.
Idella Alford-Johnson will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created during her time on Earth.
