It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen S. Spencer- Hankins, lovingly known to many as Helen, on April 24, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 85. Helen was born on January 15, 1939, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to her parents Lee Spencer and Mary Cooper. Helen is survived by her adoring daughters Novita Sherry Spires, Tenita Hankins, and her son Charles Steele. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She now joins her parents in eternal peace.

Throughout her life, Helen was known for her dedication to serving others. She worked for Ascension Via Christi, where she made a positive impact on countless lives. Her commitment to her work and her community left a lasting legacy that will be cherished by many.

Helen's warm and loving nature made her special to all who knew her. Her kindness and compassion touched the hearts of those around her, creating lasting memories for her friends and family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and unwavering love.

A service to celebrate Helen's life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Greater New Testament Baptist Church, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life.

Helen Spencer Hankins will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, knowing she was truly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
