Emma L. Kimmel, 18, of Wichita, passed away on May 14, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born on October 7, 2005, in Jackson County, Oregon.

Emma was a 2024 graduate of Derby High School.  She was not sure which direction she wanted to go with her secondary education. At one time she had dreams of pursuing a career in fashion in New York City before discovering her passion for computer science and coding.  She also enjoyed writing and reading.  She was a young woman full of potential and curiosity, eager to explore the possibilities life had to offer.

She enjoyed spending time with her foster sisters, going to the gym, going on walks, and caring for the family puppy. Emma's kind and caring nature touched the lives of those around her.

Emma is survived by her father, Alexander Kimmel, her mother, Marsha Geer, her siblings Elli, Donnovan, Damien, Harper, Greyson, and several other loving family members. She also left behind her foster mother and her foster sisters and supports from within the foster care system who all miss her greatly.

A Celebration of Life for Emma will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The event will be a come-and-go celebration, honoring Emma's wishes for a game night for her graduation party. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfy clothes and join in playing games, sharing memories of Emma, enjoying breakfast, and watching a video slideshow of her joyful moments.

Emma will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  May she rest in peace.
