On May 16, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul, Dorcas M. Rich-Vann, at the age of 89, in Wichita, Kansas. Born in the serene town of Pratt, Kansas, on April 4, 1935, she brought love and light to everyone she encountered. Dorcas wore many hats throughout her life. She was not just a daughter, a wife, a mother, a pastor, but a beacon of strength and compassion. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John G. Vann, her parents Roscoe Leon Rich & Marshie Thompson, and her son Michael Vann.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Elizabeth McMeans sons Marcus W. Vann and William (Bill) G. Vann, along with 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Dorcas dedicated her life to her family and community, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

With a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Dorcas pursued her passion for creativity and elegance. But her biggest accomplishment was serving as the Pastor at Emmanuel Pentecostal Temple for 48 years. Her unwavering faith and dedication touched the lives of many, weaving a tapestry of hope and love in her community.

Dorcas was a gentle soul with a heart of gold. Her kindness, grace, and wisdom inspired those around her. She will always be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unconditional love for others.

In the quiet moments of our lives, Dorcas will be dearly missed but her legacy of love and faith will continue to shine bright. Rest in peace, dear Dorcas, your spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those you touched.
