Donald Ray Lawson, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024, in Crystal, Minnesota at the age of 86. He was born on March 16, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Hardie Sr and Sarah Walker-Lawson. Donald is reunited in heaven with his parents and siblings, Hardie & James Lawson. Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his five children, Donald, Lori, Monte, Nicole, and Deryck Lawson, who meant the world to him. He was a dedicated and cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition, he is mourned by the love of his life, girlfriend Clara Hynes.

After a fulfilling career of over 20 years with the United States Postal Service, Donald retired to pursue his passion for genealogy. He spent countless hours researching his family history, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories and connections for his loved ones to cherish.

Donald will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His warm smile and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Donald's life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a genealogy research organization in his memory.

As we say goodbye to Donald, we take comfort in knowing that his memory will live on through the stories we share and the love we continue to carry in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Donald, your legacy of love will never fade.
