Donald Garcia, known to many as Don, peacefully passed away on April 4, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born on March 17, 1949, in Chandler, Oklahoma a day that marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that touched the lives of many. Don was the beloved husband of Berneice Garcia, a loving father to Darryl L. Garcia and Jason E. Garcia, and a devoted grandfather to his cherished grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Buster Garcia and Lillian Lee Mack.

Don's legacy is one of service and dedication. He proudly served his country as a United States Air Force Military Veteran, exemplifying bravery and honor throughout his service. After his military career, Don continued to impact lives as a respected teacher in USD 259, where he shared his knowledge and inspired countless students. His expertise extended to the tech world, where he excelled as a computer programmer at Koch Industries.

Education was a priority for Don, who held bachelor's and master's degrees. His thirst for knowledge and his passion for learning were evident in his successful career and his commitment to personal growth.

Those who knew Don remember him for his kind heart, his unwavering loyalty, and his sense of humor that could light up any room. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service in honor of Don's life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mark UMC. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Winfield Veteran Cemetery in Winfield, KS, at 1:00 PM.
