Obituary

Rev. Dilce Polite was born Dilce Kizzee in Ardmore Oklahoma, on August 21, 1926, to Travis Nutt and Mae Bell Logan. She spent her early life in Oklahoma with her mother and siblings Azola, Hazel, Wenzell and Sharon. Dilce attended and graduated from Wichita Public Schools. She worked as a housekeeper and home health aide before retiring from Wichita public school system as a foster grandparent.

Dilce raised six children. She raised her four grandsons as her own, when her daughter became physically unable to care for them. Her home was a home away from home for many of her family members including a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and family she made along the way.

Rev Dilce Polite devoted her life to spreading the message of Jesus. After accepting her calling to the ministry she worked in various positions including ministering at the Sedwick county jail and starting the Wichita work release ministry. Rev. Dilce Polite was an active member of her church home Tabernacle for more than 40 years, until she transitioned.

Left to remember- Cousin Jim Maloney. Sons Dr. Kenneth M. Polite Sr, Darren Thomas (Grandson), William Thomas (Grandson), Robin Thomas (Grandson) and Keith Thomas (Grandson). Godson Gregory Swanigan and Goddaughter Janelle Floyd. As well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death- Father Travis Nutt and Mother Mae Bell Logan. Sisters Azola (Chalk) Dortch, Hazel Brown and Sharon Cooper. Brother Wenzelle James. Daughters Toya Vann and Scarlett Thomas. Sons Norvette Davenport, Andre Bencent and Dr William "Buggs" Polite Jr.
