Darnell Wade
Jones
February 21, 1984 – August 30, 2025
Darnell Wade Jones was the third child born to Gerald Wade Jones and Janet Anita Sanders on February 21, 1984. He was born with long beautiful locks down to the top of his back and that softly covered his forehead and sideburns that gently cascaded both sides of his face down to his chin. He was such a beautiful baby, having long curly eyelashes, oftentimes being mistaken for a Babygirl. He was shy for a while but quickly grew out of it as he started elementary school. Later he became a very vocal and humorous boy, developing a great sense of humor, leaving family and friends rolling with laughter. He was told many times he should become a professional comedian, developing excellent delivery.
He was also an excellent student that too often became bored in his classes.
He told one particular story of how in calculus class he had fallen asleep, only to be awakened during a time when the teacher WA explaining a problem on the board. He raised his hand to correct her openly. As the teacher checked her work, she realized she indeed had been corrected. Darnell attended Mueller and Minneha Elementary school, Coleman Middle School, then Southeast High School, where he received his high school diploma. In High school, he began working to buy his first car, with the help from his mom saving half of the price as they had agreed upon. He started his first job at Soup r Salad restaurant. Saved all his tips and he and Mom bought him a 1987 Suzuki Samari. He was so excited because he learned to drive a manual vehicle.
A little while after graduation he was baptized and acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Goshen Christian Center. During this time, he was able to begin higher education, taking classes and working full time. He met Kelly Salmon, and developed a relationship and had 2 beautiful children, Corbin and Landon. After their relationship ended, he met Ashley Townsend and, in their relationship, had 2 more beautiful children, Arianah and Darnell Jr. Darnell began working for NPC in 2004 and was later promoted to Supervisor. He worked there for 21 years up until his death. During that time met Kristina Patton and their relationship became a blended family partnership that lasted till the end of his days on earth.
Darnell loved music, so much so that he became a D J, developing his talent, over the years with his call name "DJ the D J" became popular around town booking gigs, building relationships and loving every minute of it. He was also known as "Spyda Man", his long thin legs proving the nickname. He loved spending time with his family; loved putting together playlists, having fun and making everyone laugh till their sides hurt.
Darrnell leaves to cherish his memory, Parents: Gerald Jones, Janet Weerts (Randy); His faithful and loving partner, Kristina Patton; Sons: Corbin, Landon, Darnell Jr.; Daughter: Arianah; Bonus son: Andru Knaus (AArilyn); Bonus daughters: Alyssa Townsend, Lavytia Newman, and Ta'Zionna Newman.
