Dana Marie Crockett -Bruner was born on July 31, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas, the only child of Tressie (James) and Charles Crockett.

Growing up, Dana spent many weekends, summers and Christmas with her grandmother and family. As a product of the Wichita Public Schools, Dana attended Ingalls elementary school where she met her best friend for life Janet (Barnes) McGill in Kindergarten.. Dana, along with Janet also attended Truesdell Middle School and South High School.

Dana attended Business School and after graduation, began working for the Wichita Public School system, at the School Service Center where she stayed until retirement. After retirement from the district, Dana returned to work at High Touch Technologies until January 2025.

A strong woman of faith, Dana along with her parents attended Ninth Street Church of God and then First Church of God. As an adult Dana attended Greater Mizpah Baptist Church where she was an active and loyal member.

Dana had a presence you could not forget. Always, kind and caring and willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh you will never forget.

Dana is preceded in death by her parents Tressie (James) and Charles Crockett

Left to cherish her memory is her sister Janet Brown, nephew Joe (Dena) Edwards, her "sister" Janet (Barnes) McGill, cousins, Deatra Crockett, Jennifer (Ron) Allen, Lucretia Taylor, Trent Taylor, and a host of family and friends.

Memorial Service for Dana will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, 11:00 AM - The Greater Mizpah Baptist Church, 2211 S Bluff St, Wichita, Ks 67218.
