Cynthia Z. Smith-Byrd, passed away on June 7, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 57. She was born on September 25, 1966, in Wichita, Kansas, to her mother Emma Jean Smith and her late father Furman Smith Sr. Cynthia leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, cherished by her husband Roderick M. Byrd, her daughter Jordyn E. Byrd, her mother Emma Jean Smith, her brothers Furman Smith Jr. and Christopher Smith, and her sisters Pamela Patrick and Jacqueline Smith.

Throughout her life, Cynthia was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her bright, infectious smile that could light up any room.

Her personal traits of empathy, compassion, and resilience made her truly special. Cynthia had a way of connecting with others and making them feel valued and loved.

A service to honor and celebrate Cynthia's life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Grant Chapel AME in Wichita, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to join together to pay their respects and share cherished memories of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
