Clifford Mayes, 90, of Wichita, Kansas, was called home on August 29, 2025. Born to his mother and father on March 5, 1935, in Lenapah, Oklahoma, Clifford's life was marked by hard work, a dedication to his family, and a love for life that was infectious to everyone who knew him.

Clifford was the retired owner of Mayes Excavating Contractor & United States Army Military Veteran

He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Cheryl A. Mayes. His love for Cheryl was the kind of love you only read about in novels - deep, unwavering, and abiding. He is also survived by his daughters, Dolores (Rosco) Givens, Toni (Charles) Findley, Victoria Robinson, Carol Wilson, Linda Mayes, and stepson Clinton (Darlene) Noble.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Jackson Mortuary Chapel. The family invites all who knew and loved Clifford to join them in celebrating his life and remembering the joy he brought to all their lives.

Clifford Mayes, a man of great integrity, love, and strength, will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the family he loved so dearly and the countless lives he touched. His was a life well lived, full of love, laughter, and joy.
