Bernard Joseph
Carley
September 6, 1952 – February 5, 2025
Bernard Joseph Carley, affectionately known as "B.J." passed away early Wednesday morning, February 5, 2025 at the age of 72. He was born on September 6, 1952 in Tampa, Florida to Wilson Z. Carley, Sr. and Laura Carley. He graduated from Blake High School in Tampa and attended North Carolina A&T and Hillsboro Community College.
"B.J." served 12 years in the U. S. Air Force and 21 years with the U. S. Postal Service, thus a total of 33 years federal service. He loved to fish, spend time at the casino, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. Everyone that knew him knew that he was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football Fan! One of his favorite songs was "Night Shift" by the Commodores and it was ironic that he in fact worked second shift at the General Mail Facility in Wichita, Kansas until he retired in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wilson Sr. and Laura, and his brother Wayne Carley. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Rowonna Rambo-Carley; his children – Wayne Carley, Craig Carley, and Martin Sulzman (David); his bonus children – Larry Parker, and Amber; his siblings – Wilson Carley, Jr. (sybil), Derek Carley (Kim), and Lydia Carley; his nieces – Shayna Clinkscales (Dimetrius) and Laura Rose Carley; his granddaughter, Amya Carley; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, co-workers, and friends who will miss him dearly.
On behalf of his wife and the Carley family, please remember the good times that were shared with our dear "B.J." He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
