Afocha Nwude

Afocha "Bob" Nwude, 76, passed away peacefully on July 9. Born in Nigeria, Afocha came to the United States in 1978 to pursue his education, where he built a life centered on faith, family, and community. While in the United States, he met the love of his life, Shirley Smith. They married and shared a loving life together until Shirley's passing in 1996.

Known to many as Bob, he was a quiet, gentle man whose life was guided by his faith. He found joy in attending church, spending time with family and friends, and simply being in the company of those he loved. Though reserved in nature, his kindness, steady presence, and warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He was a devoted father to his son, Uchenna, and a loving father-in-law to Kelli. He took great pride in being "Daddy's Daddy" to his four beloved grandchildren: Amadi, Jidenna, Okezie, and Jasmine. They will forever treasure the love, warmth, and gentle presence he brought to their lives.

Afocha will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast faith, and deep love for his family. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy of love, resilience, and devotion lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
